OLYMPIC '93

In hot persuit of their current Top 20 hit '1 in 10', 808 State prepare to release PLAN 9, the third single to be taken from their forthcoming album 'GORGEOUS' (released on the 1st February 1993 catalogue # ZTT12). PLAN 9 is 808 at their very 'ambient' best and is just as memorable as their first venture into the mellower fields of dance 'Pacific'.

As you can see from the enclosed promo 808 have included their re-working of OLYMPIC, currently being used for the theme of channel 4's 'The Word'. OLYMPIC is still one of the most requested tracks from 808's catalogue so I'm sure you will have no problem in programming this updated version into your set.

"PLAN 9 : OLYMPIC '93" will be released on the 18th January on ZTT Records catalogue # ZANG38.
As well as currently supporting Madness on their UK Tour (dates below) 808 are thinking of setting up a mini nationwide tour of their own to support the Album release in February - more info about this as soon as it becomes available.

A CUNNING PLAN FROM 808 STATE

In hot pursuit of their Top 20 hit "One In Ten", 808 State release "Plan 9" on January 18th, a prime example of the State on an ambient tip and just as memorable as their first venture into the mellower fields of dance, "Pacific".

"Plan 9" is taken from their forthcoming third album for WEA/ZTT - due next month - and comes with a reworking of "Olympic", which is currently being used as the theme of Channel 4's THE WORD ("Olympic" has long been one of the most requested tracks from 808's back catalogue).
12" adds a different mix of the "Plan 9", with "Nbambi (The April Showers Mix)" on CD only.

After the success of 808 State's tour with MADNESS and THE FARM, Graham Massey, Darren Partington & Andrew Barker arc now planning a nationwide tour of their own to coincide with the album's release. Watch this space for dates.

Comments:

The DJ Edit is not listed anywhere on the release, apart from the sticker on the front. It's an uncredited mix by Trevor Horn, later to be included on Blueprint.
