The new 7-piece James is revealed on vinyl on November 20 with "Come Home". Incisive lyrics and very addictive melody - certainly the new James sound is both bigger and harder.
The new single, 12" and CD coincide with a major national tour (dates attached) with special guests The Band of Holy Joy and pre-empts the release of their first studio LP for Rough Trade, Gold Mother, due for release in early 1990.
Press/Radio:
The emphasis will be on national live reviews early in the tour, and a comprehensive ongoing program of regional press and radio support: - preview interviews, competitions, radio sessions, etc, 'Tour Towns' will be covered with listings plus additional support from key regional press/radio, As part of the program the following is already confirmed:
17-18/11 Edinburgh/Strathclyde University - preview BBC Radio Scotland phoner with 'Bite the Wax'; interview with Edinburgh's The List Magazine'; program idents for BBC Scotland's 'Beat patrol'.
27/11 Cambridge - R. Saxon/Orwell preview phoner ; Hereward / CNFM

29/11 Southampton University - University paper preview interview.
1/12 Cardiff - Preview phoner 'Impact' Magazine. More to be confirmed.
The Tour:
It is anticipated that both bands will be playing to a minimum of
1,000
people at each gig and strong ticket sales are already
reported in Leeds, Birmingham, Cambridge, Liverpool , Sheffield and
their home town Manchester where they will be playing to a packed
house of just under 3,000.
Advertising/P.O.S.:
Key announcement ads will be placed in NME, Melody Maker and The
Catalogue including tour dates and dealer posters will be available.
TV/Video:
A video will be made and the key programmes/cables will be targeted
for broadcast.
Target:
James already have a solid sales base of 10,000+ with this
release we expect to sell a minimum if not more of this amount.
Strike Force:
This release will be pre-sold by Telesales and carried by
Contact and the Cartel - no free stock is being allocated.
Radio:
An independent plugger will be employed for R.I., etc,
All reps/dealers should be encouraged to see both groups .
