Actually SteveC mentioned Spooky...they returned from a kind of hiatus recently and put out loads of new material didn't they? As well as the fact that 'Gargantuan' is an incredible album. I reckon they'd be worth a shot, as they still play live regularly.

.........and they might even persuade DJ Sasha to come along as they have a close working relationship. What a coup that would be, and a night.

Are any of these suggestions current, or old school?
"It needs to may be be a bit more
current than old school,(im thinking that,)
this may include dj s also.."

At the risk of making it sound like a "Pob's ideal line-up" sort of suggestion. We have:
Autechre
Altern8
N-Joi
SMD
Vitalic
Gerald!!!!
...and if you can get Orbital to turn up then that'd be great!

actually it would be a good time to get the KLF reform and do the battle of the bands thing i read about in the daily mirror circa 1991
and while we're at it, lets have The Shamen and Orbital reform as well!
please can we not have any "new rave" bands.
the observer monthly article makes me inclined to suggest going balls out acid house rave style.

haha yeah the 'new rave' lot are quite different in style to proper rave music. i dont know which modern rave artists are there? Paul Blackford? Something from the dubstep scene?
Also, will this gig definitely be in Manchester?

I don't think this gig is definitely going to be anywhere at the moment. Graham said it's neither confirmed nor denied.

For an exclusive GlobalState gig, The Kings Arms, Salford
For a well promoted "ave it" gig, maybe Manc Apollo
Or none of the above
