B Sides - The best Of.
Hi Guys.
I see a lot of polls on the forum - best Album - Crapiest Song etc.
PS:
I am not sure about crapiest - i think all 808 are great some are just better than others - most are really outstanding even ground breaking.
Any way How about a poll for the best B side song from a single CD.
My favourite without a doubt is "The Chiesler" the first single released from the Don Solaris Album.
This song just grabs you by the B---s & doestnt let go until the end - this is just a fantastic adrenalin pumping song.
I think we should put in a petition to Graham to release a best of B - Sides.
In my opinion it would be a superb stand alone Album even a best of the best of 808 state.
Anybody got any other ideas for this B Side Album.
Graham.Any chance of this idea becoming a reality ??.

B-Sides
The best 808 B-Side can't really be classified as an extra track but more of a remix. Its the second track on the Bond single. Obviously I'm talking about BONDED which (I've said this before, and I'll keep saying it!) Rocks Like A Bastard! Especially played live a la Castlefield!

I've just being having a mad 808 playday (maybe that should be an annual holiday for the country), anyway after tearing into the DVD and past material I can honestly say that, at the time of release, and even now "Marathon" is still RUNNING as an epic track, especially the 12" club mix.
I remember hearing this live at the Manc Academy and getting totally absorbed and euphoric as the swirling laser lights drew you into the track.
BRING BACK THE LASER SHOW GUYS, 808 WERE ALWAYS RENOWNED FOR THEIR LIGHT SHOWS, THE SET ISN'T THE SAME WITHOUT IT
Although it's still awsome..........

ski family
i don't know many of the 808 b-sides, but i doubt there's any to rival "ski family". when "ooops" came out as a single, i remember picking it up and reading the tracklisting (i'm a complete nerd for tracklistings, and i suspect i'm not alone in this ), and thinking what a great, intriguing title "ski family" was. i didn't buy the single (a financial thing, no doubt), but finally got it about a week ago. maybe i'm pointing out the obvious, but for anyone who doesn't know, "ski family" features the "bro, bro, bro" sample from david bowie's "chant of the ever-circling skeletal FAMILY", from his 1974 album "diamond dogs". if you don't have it, go get it! (the "bro" refers, incidentally, to the segue from the previous track on the album, "big BROther". i love the fact that the title reflects the origin of the sample. where the "ski" part, comes from, i don't know. but maybe you do ...
