Outpost Transmission is now out in Japan!!!

Post by mari »

Heeellloooo there. Konnichiwa.
Mari is back on-line.

Japanese O/T album is already in store as of 6th Nov.
Sorry guys, I'm a bit ahead of you 8)

I bought my copy at Tower Records, and it came with a sticker
with big 808 STATE logo. Cool. But I just wonder who designed
this sticker and that flyer in yellow and blue caz I don't see any
visual connection with the O/T sleeve design... hm... Oh, and the
Japanese O/T album came with a bonus track "Quincy's Lunch".

I haven't listnened the whole album yet, but I like it so far!!
Don't know how to describe it, but very unique. a
rh arh... well you'll know in a week!! :) I wait for you guys to
comment on O/T :)

Welcome back 808 State.

Japanese release

Post by Ancodia »

Obviously it's that time to place my order along with the half dozen other Japanese albums I'm after. Christmas will be good to me this year!

Did 808 themselves know this? Why were we not informed?

Anyway good to see a final commercial release even if it is overseas!

It's been in the news page and on the Outpost page Mark. Japan were always going to be ahead of the UK.

Yes I read the news page and I knew OT was to be first released in Japan.
I was referring to the date, as I didn't think we had it confirmed???

Anyway I've ordered mine and the supplier tells me I should have it by mid next week at some point.

Sorry, yes indeed I didn't know if it was actually confirmed either until Mari told us. Last night when I wanted to confirm it on the news page, there was a total powercut in my part of Amsterdam for over an hour... will try again tonight ;-)

Muggins ere has just bought the CD Promo off e-bay for £24 (inc postage), is that a good deal or are you all laughing at my gullibility.

Anyway at least I should get it BEFORE the official release date which is worth it.

Mari, whats the promotion and availability of the album like over there, i.e. any radio play, is it on display in most record stores, chart entry, article reviews etc

Outpost Transmission

Well thats my Japanese import ordered from HMV Japan. I've also ordered Sainkho Namtchylak's - Stepmother City Remixes and an album by Takkyu Ishino. Should have them all by the end of next week, so I can both Start and End the week with 808.

I got mine through today - good to hear Quincy on CD at last!

BTW, is there an inner booklet, or just an OBI Strip and sticker with the Japanese release? The sticker, btw, is a blue on yello affair with the old-style 808 logo saying '808 State, Manchester England'.

l8rs,

Nick ;)

I'm pretty chuffed with the booklet, but I'm not spilling any beans.
Has anyone else noticed that Quincy is a good 15 seconds longer than on vinyl?

HMV Japan

Got Outpost last week, exactly eight days after I ordered it, along with: the Stepmother City Remixes and the fantastic Throbbing Disco Cat by Takkyu Ishino.
If HMV Japan have the item in stock it can be in the UK within five days, i had to wait the extra days for the other album.
