Afternoon all,
Apologies if this has been asked before. Anyone know where the 'here we go' sample on 'San Francisco' comes from? In Alain Patrick's review http://www.discogs.com/808-State-exel/master/27737 he mentions that the sample also appears in 'Pacific symphony' by Transformer 2. But according to this page http://www.discogs.com/Transformer-2-Pa ... ter/158557, that track wasn't released until 1992 – which means either that T2 sampled from the same source as used on 'San Francisco', or that they took the sample from 'San Francisco' itself.
On 'San Francisco', the sample sounds as if it's been pitched-up a little, making it harder to identify.
Any ideas?
Greetings, CtheB

Re: San Francisco 'here we go' sample
Pacific Symphony is one of the many many tracks that were inspired by 808 State. I think T2 were referencing 808 State with the sample.

It's also in an Armando track: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/trax-c ... d290111417
I'm guessing Queen Latifah, MC Lite or someone like that
