Just wondering, who would win? They seem pretty evenly matched as far as I
can tell, but 808 State has wisdom while the Warriors counteract with a fierce
brashness that calls to mind their post-acid high school phase.
Or this one, Utah Saints versus Ed Solo and DJ Deekline.
Not much competition there, totally unique but seperate identities. DJ
Deekline was doing well, but isn't that Karen Danzing singing on "Something
Good"?
I'd still vote for anything that sounds like "Trip to Trumpton" or "Maggie's Last
Party" by VIM though....

Maybe want to have a listen to "Cloudbusting" by Kate Bush, about one minute in should do it.DJDMISE wrote:isn't that Karen Danzing singing on "Something

Re: 808 State vs Stanton Warriors
Well, I've been finishing my techno archive (150mb to go!) (out of 700mb ) and made a shocking discover
in favour of 808 State! Whilst editing the tune "The House is Mine (Original Mix)" by
The Hypnotist (I deleted the middle "hardcore" part which is actually a pretty good
tune but probably put in there by the "studio system"...it just doesn't fit in IMO),
well, anyway, whilst trying to get all those scat vocals to match the cuts, I was
horrified to notice that the beat and the piano is THE SAME as in (one of my
favorite Stanton Tunes) "Beggin". If not THE SAME, at least near similar, and both
tracks featuring "older" genre vocals.
I guess in today's economy, there's just no one to point the finger, but I will, I
point the finger and say...1 point for 808 State!
Kate Bush? I'm going to put on a track suit and fire up some Portishead before
I investigate your clan...

It's definitely Kate Bush - she's credited on the record...DJDMISE wrote:Kate Bush? I'm going to put on a track suit and fire up some Portishead before
