opti buk 2 set

Post by j the teacher »

This may come as a shock to some, on www.hmv.com OPTI BUK 2set is listed as being formatted for REGION 1 (north america)!!!! It apparently will be released on on the 26th of this month.....$34.21 is the US price.

Looks like it's a straight Canadian issue of the UK DVD+'State To State 2', which will be cool for you guys on Region 1.

Sounds promising! Wonder if there'll be a different tracklisting?

Hmmm, would be nice, but I'll believe it when I see it - they are also selling the Deepville CD single, allegedly released in 2000. "Usually ships in 21 days". Well, as most uf us probably know, that CD was never released...

It would have been nice if it had, though... :(

Yeah, a bit like the 'Pump' single between 'Gorgeous' and 'Don Solaris' (ZANG67)...

It's about time the damn thing came out formatted for Region 1. I've been waiting ages to see this. I don't understand why formats have to be different on different continents. But, they are...does that mean that the Orbital DVD will become available, I wonder? Perhaps I will post over there before someone has a fit....[/i]

Opti Buk Region 1 yea, right

Post by scottmedia »

ZTT.com has no mention of a region 1 release and no other North American online store lists it - not even Amazon. Maybe the alleged region 1 is a bootleg conversion or pirated conversion. It wouldn't be the first time a major store sold bootlegs and not know it... :-?

There's one on e-bay at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 3305736891 although not sure if it's just the UK one or a US/Canadian one...

It does say, however, "This Out of Print DVD plays on US DVDs"...

Anyone else got a region 1 DVD?

I questioned the eBay seller. This is what he told me:
"Hi, sorry it is Regions 2-6--You're right, I made a big mistake!!!
Sorry! I've ended the auction."

Swines - demand a refund for misleading you! :-?

Anyway, at least you guys will get a different version of 'Outpost Transmission', which all of us in the UK will have to buy again! :P

dvd regions

Post by j the teacher »

I live in the US.
I purchased the OptiBUK dvd from HMV.com
I thought (because they advertised it) it was for region 1 (2-6 actually).
I planned on getting a region free DVD player, but I instead found http://www.regionfreedvd.net/ which gives directions on how to change the region of your dvd player. I did not have to buy a new dvd player and I can now view the region 2-6 OptiBUK dvd on my original region 1 DVD player.
Go to www.regionfreedvd.net and click on DVD players and then scroll down to find your DVD PLAYER.

Hmmm... I'd got an order outstanding on CDZone for a Region 1 Optibuk (along with the unreleased Newbuild CD single, and the unreleased Japanese 1997 Remixes CD!), and was therefore shocked when they sent an e-mail saying it had been despatched!

Well, if it turns out to be a Region 1 DVD, then I'll let you all know. The catalogue number is SPV930157, btw, if that means anything to anybody!
