Crystal Method

Post by Mark »

Anybody got the new Crystal Method album yet? I'm debating wether or not to spend my hard earned cash, I wasn't overly impressed with 'Tweekend'

Legion of Boom? Haven't heard much, but I heard the two tracks that featured the Limp Bizkit guitarist (Weapons of Mass Distortion, Broken Glass) and that was good enough for me to order it online. The tracks I heard are both pretty intense, with some aggressive guitars, catchy riffs and Prodigy tempos. Kinda remind me of tracks on the second half of Don Solaris a bit. Solid stuff. Better than Tweekend, I'd say, at least. I'll be in a position to give a better report in about a week when I get to hear the whole CD.

I have it and I like it. Great mixture of Guitars and Dance beats. It is more reminiscent of Vegas than Tweekend. On their website, (THE crystal method dot com) you have to scroll down to find the METHPLAYA. It gives you good snippets of the songs. Dig the video for born too slow as well.

Cheers J. I'll have a crack at it, I quite liked Vegas, but Tweekend was a little naff, probably still buy it anyway, they've always been a poorer version of the Chemicals in my opinion, but worth the listen.

Yeah, to update: I got Legion of Boom, and it's a lot of fun, I must say. I do like. Kinda reminds me a bit of Kish Kash in places, but not quite as weird or good. The Milla Jovovich track is solid.

For your money's worth, I do recommend the new Lamb CD, though, for those who are fans. I've heard four or five tracks, and I think it's definitely their best yet.

crystal method in h-town

Last friday I say Crystal Method @ NUMBERS in Houston TEXAS. Quite an energetic show from 2 guys that don't look like they make the kind of music they do. Impressive light show, good mix....not disappointed. They signed merchandise after the show as well. The only complaint was DJ HYPER played a little too long...

Crystal Method did a pretty good show in my hometown of Evanston IL last August, too... had the decency to spin some Stakker Humanoid while they were about it, meaning that someone else besides me in the Western Hemisphere knows it exists.

Lamb split up?!?!?! :(
