Chemical Imbalance?

Has anyone else picked up the new Chemical Brothers CD? I'm not sure, its pretty mellow compared to previous efforts. Not sure I like it. The whole album doesn't seem to sit quite right to me.

I must say that I don't like what I've heard at the moment, although it seems to have picked up a lot of rave reviews in the recent music magazines, so quite a few people must like it!

I think I'd have preferred it if they included a lot more tracks on the album akin to their 'Electronic Battle Weapon' series - check out 'Electronic Battle Weapon 7' on the Galvanize CD single - now that is a great track.

got to agree. i like the vocal tracks but they're not really what i wanted out of the chems, and the other tracks don't really appeal to me. its telling that when i last saw them live the only album track they played was 'surface to air' (not bad but a poor mans sunshine underground), and they played 'acid children' (EBW7) which should have been an album track. none of the other album tracks would suit their live set.

you just know they are gonna rock in march, tho

I totally agree.. it's a disappointing release for me too. To be honest, I haven't really liked much they've done since Block Rockin Beats and Setting Sun.

I heard one of their new ones with vocals on a local dance show by chance and it reminded me of early 80's YMO.
