808 state Statetostate... How much?

Post by bb »

Hi there, I was wondering if any one knew how much you would expect to pay for this Fan Club only cd?

Has anyone bought one or seen one sold?

I have looked everywhere but cannot find details, how many were made etc. Please help, BB

Just to put your question into perspective, are you looking to buy or just trying to find out at what price to sell your copy? :)

It's pretty rare, turns up on eBay every now and then, can't remember how much it fetched last time. 50 Dollars? Can't remember.

I honestly can't remember how many we had made... Certainly 1000 or less. I'd guess at 500 but it was a few years ago now!...

I've watched the last few copies sold on ebay, and they all went for around £15.

The sticker on mine was positioned over the CD slot which meant I had to tear the tracklistings and the info of the disc to get the CD out. I had to then blue tack the label together to make out the words, maybe I should have took my time with a knife but I was just too eager to get it out, anybody else have this dilemma.

My copy is the same. The sticker must be over the slot on all of them.

Quite. It was a joint 808/feedback/DesRep decision. Seemed like a good idea at the time - an 'interactive' sleeve, long before the word interactive became a cliche.

And you have to remember this was at the time that Madonna's Sex book was out (which you had to rip into through some kind of bag or other), which had more than a little influence!...

Somewhere in my loft I have a few State To State CDs, and also some unpeeled stickers. And some flyers too - DesRep did a set of different flyers at the same time they designed the sleeve. *If* I can find them I'll pop 'em up on eBay, if only for Pete Z.'s sake!...

Would be nice to get some scans of those flyer variations for the site.
