Yeah. I got a tape of all that from you. Thanks. Someday I'll pass it though Hauppauge PVR and upload it. It's a "rehersal" cut from a garage or the basement of Eastern Bloc. Who knows. The lads in winter dress with a 909, a bass synth and a Technics 1200. Tunes on mic and everybody having a good time.smiley wrote:DYTD was shown on "Snub TV" on BBC2 in the UK.
i have it on tape somewhere, as i remember playing it to Soeren (Solarex) many many many years ago...
The early demo version of DYTD might have trouble getting on the bonus CD due to sample clearence. Absolute shame if it will not happen.
DYTD Marley mix
DYTD Bassless mix if not on 808 90
DYTD License to thrill
DYTD DYTD album version
Tunes splits the atom:
Creamatonic
Cool atom
Zero gravity
The only ryme that bites:
Extended (German extended version not UK-in text disc')
7" instrumental (not the CD version)
Optical remix
808s 99 remix
Definately include Pump who gives a ____ about timelines it suits the bonus cd its 808/tunes colab and its good surely thats what counts. I personally think that its better to get good, rare and unheard of material than getting trainspotterish about these albums-no offence intended.
Oh and nearly forgot is there any fluty demos of the end of primary rhyming, it would be good as a standalone end to the Bonus.
Plus any unheard material from the depths of the 808 stores? And the promise of Nickys unheard stuff sounds great.

Bloody hell, this is driving me crazy. I wish someone had compiled the ideas and kept editing them. Pete, Solarex & Badgerman, your postings are rather confusing. I decided to start off with The Only Rhyme That Bites. You've come up with 8(!) versions. I've spent the entire Sunday morning with North At Its Hights and still I'm not any further than The Only Rhyme... . So, let's take it step by step, starting with The Only Rhyme. Pete, when you say
The Only Rhyme That Bites: (12" version - unavailable on CD)
exactly which version do you mean??? The UK 12" and UK promo Side A (bItes) is simply the album version. Side B (bYtes) is available on the UK CD single. So then I"m thinking you must mean the German 12". To me side A of the German single is the same version that appears on 808:88:98 CD. Side b is again the same as the UK CD single. So exactly which mix is unavailable on CD? Please give Cat number, country, length of track. Please come up with one or two versions that are essential (state reason) and then the rest. In my book the only version that never appeared on CD is the b-side of the 7" which is an edit of bYtes. I've narrowed down your input down to this:
The Only Rhyme That Bites: (12" version - unavailable on CD?????)
The Only Rhyme That Bites (Extended version - that appeared on 88:98 ) why?
The Only Rhyme That Bites Extended (German extended version not UK-in text disc') To me this is the same as above 88:98.
The Only Rhyme That Bites 7" instrumental (this is the b-side)
The Only Rhyme That Bites Optical remix
The Only Rhyme That Bites 808 vs 99 remix
The Only Rhyme That Bites Instrumental?
Having said all that, I guess my choice would be The Only Rhyme that bYtes, although it appeared on UK CD single, it's very different.
