I've been hoping to buy this for a while now but no matter how keen I am to get hold of it there is no way on earth I'll be fleeced for £99.99 plus.
I'd be surprised if any of you lucky enough to have a copy would tell me otherwise. Could argue there are only 500 or so in existence but even so. Be interesting to watch the item though to see if anyone out there wants it that much or if it gets re-listed at a more sensible starting bid like say £30.

Considering all the regulars here would seem to have copies, you're unlikely to get into a bidding war with any of us. Top money should be around the £40 mark. Be paitient it will show up again and don't forget to keep checking here, as Agent King will probably come accross a copy whilst searching for other 808 gems.

But to actually get that elusive record is priceless. We've all been there and spent way over the odds, sometimes you just have to add a piece to the jigsaw no matter how much it costs.markus wrote:Yes, 100 quid is definitely too much. Even 50 is high.
£75 was my max, I can now relax and look back on those days of collecting knowing is was the greatest adventure of all.
This might be a bit of a blasphemous question to all you 808 veterans (I mean that in a good way, I got my first 808 State record in February this year) but is this record actually any good?? I doubt I will ever ever get it, I'd just be pleased wih the MP3s or something. But then again (in fact most certainly) maybe such a rare record is best left untouched.
Anyway I'm not touching it at that price!!!

I'd say it's good and worth getting - but not at that price. The live version of Cubik is excellent as are Lemons, Fear and Control. IMO. I was very lucky, I managed to get mine for £6.'Steve' wrote:This might be a bit of a blasphemous question to all you 808 veterans (I mean that in a good way, I got my first 808 State record in February this year) but is this record actually any good?? It's hard to get an idea of what the real worth of the state state cd actually is given that everybody asks a different amount for it...for instance,a few weeks ago I was browse-ing through the July 06' issue of the record collector and found that esprit and rage mail order offer it for 39 and 42 pounds.Anybody who pays 50 or more for this cd definetly overpayed. In my opinion this cd is worth anywhere between 30 - 50 pounds!Anybody who got it for less than 30 got themselves a deal...the fan club(if i'm not mistaken)offered them to the fans for 13 pounds at the time, add 10 years and the fact that it is limited to 500 copies, puts it exactly in that projected bracket I mentioned above.Too bad there isn't a expert in collectables on this forum(or anywhere for that matter) to shed some light on this...I like how the person on ebay relisted the cd for 49.99pounds this time around
