808 state playing at my local - true or are they fakers!

Someone i know has been given a leaflet claiming 808 state are to play at the Red Lion pub in Gatley, near stockport. Can anyone clarify whether this is true or someone using their name for false advertising

If not then maybe their laywers should be informed, and if it is true i'll see ya there

I doubt the pub landord/lady would be aware if they were fakers and i will inform them when i find out the truth....

anyone got any answers???????

Seems a bit unlikely. Live & DJ gig dates appear on the live page. What date are they claiming?

apparently it's a leaflet in our local florests window, i'll pop down later when it's not so busy and i can find somewhere to park and have a look at what it says, if it's no longer there i'll phone the pub and see if they can shed some light on the mystery.

Ok, been to the florest and the leaflet has gone!! So i'm still none the wiser

I rang the pub, the landlord was out but the girl i spoke to said they have got a band booked for the 15th december called 808 state but she had never heard of them before so couldn't tell me if it's the 808 state or not.

I seem to be doing lots of digging and getting absolutely nowhere.

Oh well, guess i'll go to the pub on friday and find out for myself, it might be them doing a set for just me and my mates, which would be really cool

well its not me! however if your local is the rampant lion in chorlton on medlock(not to be confused with chorlton Cum Hardy,the real chorlton)
then i will be doing my xmas set this sunday evening along with 15 other mcr djs and socialites- yes wisdom of the magi is coming over on cd markus.

Well, it's not on the official DJ roster either. Still, I'm intrigued to know who else call themselves 808 state
