I remember reading him talking about the heyday of the Hacienda, working on tracks in the studio and then taking tapes down there for the DJ's to play 'hot off the press', gauging instant audience reaction.

I have a feeling it was in Bjork's Post book? Or maybe on this website? Can anyone remember? Or ping me the original quote? I need it for a book I am writing about avant-garde/dance music.

See http://www.808state.com/news/news.htm under 27:02:2002. I just took extracts of the books, the quotes were slightly longer.

Think there is similar stuff in "Manchester, England" by Dave Haslam.
