Matt Darey = spammer

Post by markus »

I wonder if anyone else out there also gets spammed by Matt Darey on a regular basis. He's been doing it to me, 808, and other people I know for ages. Does not react to any unsubscribe requests. Even abuse reports have no effect at all.

If you've thought of voting for him in the DJ mag top 100, THINK AGAIN. He's of the worst spamming kind - he's scum!

Totally fed up of deleting the e-mails I receive from this twat! Bouncing them seemed to work for a while, then they started again!

I have sent an abuse mail to the sender (which is probably forged)
abuse@esosoft.net
Of course when he gets kicked-off by his provider, he'll just go to another. :x

I get 'em from him too. Pain the proverbial backside.

I'd heard he got a list of email addresses from some lanky dude in Holland.

I used to get spammed a lot by him when I was using my previous e-mail address. :x

Since I changed e-mail addresses I don't hear from him. :D

I vaguely remember him posting here ages ago. He must have copied everyones e-mail addresses (those that have allowed them to be displayed) and then started spamming everybody. A bit cheeky if you ask me.

We could always fight back by spamming his board!

But then again we'd be lowering ourselves to his level.

Maybe we should contact the hackers who attacked this forum and tell them Matt Darey called them a bunch of Pussies! :P

I get e-mails off him sometimes.
Actually I get about 20 Spams a day from other things like Barclay's Bank and Pharmacy stuff is this normal?.
I contacted BT about it.
The thing is some e-mails aren't even to my e-mail address, it's like to
xhdisu@btinternet.com which isn't me, sick of em.

This is normal. I get at least one e-mail a day trying to sell me viagra and other drugs. I also get e-mails which aren't even addressed to me - very odd.

Beware - the e-mails from Barclays Bank are probably fraudulent. I got one once trying to get me to give personal details. I don't even have an account with Barclays! Hover your cursor over the links and they will be random addresses, nothing to do with Barclays at all.

The same applies to other fraudulent e-mails I have received in the past claiming to be from Ebay and Paypal. They were asking for personal details I didn't have to give when I signed up. Beware!

cheers mate,

I also don't have an account with Barclay's.
I've had the ebay stuff, they just go in my Bulk folder and I delete them.

That's the best thing to do. I'm also careful not to double-click on any of these e-mails or open any attachments in case it releases a virus.
