New Album is pure shit

Post by Guest »

I've heard a CD-R of the new album and dont waste your time. The high production values are gone and it's basically a piece of shit album, sounds like a second rate Prodigy album. Gorgeous sounds like a classic compared to this.

Fair enough - you're entitled to an opinion, but can't you provide any more substance than 'pure shit'. How about a track by track review...

Outpost Transmission

Post by Ancodia »

Outpost Transmission is a great album purely due to the fact that it includes 606, an absolute stormer of a track. I would quite like to hear 606 remixed by AlpineStars and giving it a flavour of Snow Patrol. It would become a great bounding dance floor stormer, guaranteed to put 808 back in the limelight. 8)

i've heard bits of the album, its a grower, but so far thumbs up (better than gorgeous for sure). instant outstanding tracks are 606, wheatstraw & crossword - which should be longer.

oh and by the way, if anyone is gonna slag off 808 please let us know who you are ok (ya yellow bastards)

The new album is much better than Gorgeous. I suggest that you give it a few listens. It is a very elaborate album. It is certainly not shit!!! I rate it as the best yet, but Don Solaris is equally good in its own right.

606 is certainly release material and some great mixes would put 808 back in the charts I reckon.

From a diehard 808 fan, fellow globalstaters trust me when I say you will not be dissapointed.

Yes, especially 'Souflex' is weak, which I've asked Graham to rename to it's original name 'Box O Cream'.
Also I've changed the permissions for new postings & replies to "Registered users only".
Souflex

what the???

markus is this your idea of a joke??

Why would you go and ask graham to rename the souflex track??

Sorry Gary, I thought you had posted the original message, if it wasn't you, apologies. The answer was obviously meant as a joke.
So if it wasn't Gary, who was it? Come out of the closet!

808 new album

Post by PeteZarustica »

I found a few tracks in a ftp site but I didnt bother to dl them. I need to listen to it full quality!
One thing I don't understand is why people cant understand that 808 state is changing, is always getting better and growing as musicians and music makers. Some people want them to record new tracks sounding like cubik and pacific state. This is stupid. I wouldn't like it and Im pretty sure they wouldn't either. Don Solaris is a classic. Newbuild is a classic, 90 is a classic ex:el is a classic but Don Solaris is a wonderful piece of work, of music and sound designing.
I think Don Solaris should be re-released with an appropiate marketing campaign.
