"After wowing many with their inherent idiosyncrasy, Homelife return to notch another rung on the un-definable ladder. This has to be said that this is their strength, rather than being viewed as a weakness. Some bands lack direction. Homelife just want to head off in many directions all at once.

2002 saw them garner praise from a myriad of different sources. Flying Wonders, their classy third offering (but first for Ninja Tune) caused much scratching of heads, but all had to agree that its charm was beyond question. The aforementioned charm comes truly alive in the live arena, where many play their part to create a unique ensemble outfit.

If you’ve not caught them live, that needs to be rectified. As The Guardian said of their last show in London, ‘it’s a rich mix, but never unpalatable’.

For the new EP, Seaming To (also busy with Mr Scruff of late) heads to the top of the class for more gold stars. Her wonderfully unhurried vocal refrain of Too Fast reflecting the bands ideology that they’re in it for the long haul. Ground Running, a live favourite arrives in casiotone refinery looking for the party & Fair-weather Friend, is a healthy morsel that needs to be devoured in one sitting. It embraces all that is on offer in the Homelife armoury – Seaming’s caressing operatics, warm strings & jaunty grooves, which is brought to life by a shared Mancunian/Latino vision! "

I think this is postponed to 3 March, looking at amazon.co.uk.
